My father Michael J. Ventura was an incredible contractor that started by building many of the 3 story apartment buildings in Isla Vista in the late 1960’s. Together we built over 100 Custom homes and multiple Commercial buildings throughout Santa Barbara. I remember one day when I was in first grade at Mountain View school he walked in to the school office and asked for the Principal. He said “Please get me my kid… He’s going to work with me today”. The principal Mr. Zouzalik gladly sent for me and I was pulled out of class to go to a construction job with my Dad. On the way out of the school office he said “Ken’s going to learn a lot more with me today!” Everyone laughed because they knew it was true. I was 6 years old. By the time I was 15 1/2 I was doing complete kitchen remodels for local residents by myself. I only had my drivers permit so I had to always bring an older worker so I could drive.
Over the years I have remodeled possibly thousands of homes throughout Santa Barbara County area creating just about every style of remodel you can imagine. No school like the old-school!
